did the body image fairy ghost you, too?

You're not alone, my friend. Join us Tuesdays in September for Embodied Writing, 12:30-2 pm MT / 2:30-4 ET

In my 20's I thought the body image fairy would tap me with her magic wand and fix all my issues once I had kids. Then I had my first daughter. Two years later, my second baby girl arrived.

But nothing changed.

If anything, things got worse. I couldn’t lose the baby weight, and I felt like a failure of a woman for carrying around those extra pounds and like a failure of a mother for modelling self-loathing for my daughters.

In my 30’s, I realized the body image fairy wasn’t coming. If my relationship with food, exercise, and my body, was going to change, the only person who could make it happen was me.

So I did the work.

And I continue to do the work every day because it’s not done yet.

Now that I’m in my late 40’s I accept that it may never be done.

If you’re a midlife woman who is doing the work, too, and you’d like to cozy up with your laptop and a like-minded community to explore the complexities of having a body through writing, I invite you to join Embodied Writing.

We’ll meet on Tuesdays over Zoom in September, starting on 9/2.

⏰️ 11:30-1 PM Pacific
⏰️ 12:30-2 PM Mountain
⏰️ 2:30-5 PM Eastern

How this will work

💕 You’ll show up as your messy, unvarnished, full self with your pen (or your laptop), your favorite beverage, and a willingness to tell your truth

🎴 I’ll provide juicy writing prompts, a safe container, and a tarot card.

🌀Together, we’ll unleash the creativity churning underneath the surface to make meaning out of our experiences.

✒️ We’re not going to worry about writing anything good. We’re just going to write and see what happens. Think of it as self-care-meets-play for grownups.

🗓 We’ll meet on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2 MT/ 2:30 to 5 ET over Zoom throughout September except 9/23 (Rosh Hashanah).

Questions? You’ll probably find the answers in the FAQ on my website. Or feel free to reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you.
