stop telling me to love my body

there, i said it. Join us Tuesdays in September for Embodied Writing, 12:30-2 pm MT / 2:30-4 ET

Do you ever feel bad about your body? Like maybe you don’t love your muffin top, or it’s not easy to bend down to tie your shoes because your gut is in the way, or you catch sight of yourself in a photo, and you’re like WTF, I look like that!?

And then—as if feeling uncomfortable or ugly or not good enough in your body wasn’t bad enough—you feel even worse because on top of the body shame you also felt like you you’ve failed at body positivity?

And now you feel bad for feeling bad.

Believe me, I think body positivity is great- in theory. I would love to feel positive about my body all the time and I’m sure you would, too. But in practice, it’s not that easy.

If you’re finding it hard, too, trust me, you’re not the only one. Which is why I created Embodied Writing, a writing circle for midlife women to explore the complexities of living in a body.

I promise this is the last time I’m going to email you about this, but I wanted to let you know, registration closes at midnight Sunday, in case you’re still on the fence.

We’ll meet on Tuesdays over Zoom in September, starting on Tuesday, 9/2.

⏰️ 11:30-1 PM Pacific
⏰️ 12:30-2 PM Mountain
⏰️ 2:30-5 PM Eastern

How this will work

💕 You’ll show up as your messy, unvarnished, full self with your pen (or your laptop), your favorite beverage, and a willingness to tell your truth

🎴 I’ll provide juicy writing prompts, a safe container, and a tarot card.

🌀Together, we’ll unleash the creativity churning underneath the surface to make meaning out of our experiences.

✒️ We’re not going to worry about writing anything good. We’re just going to write and see what happens. Think of it as self-care-meets-play for grownups.

🗓 We’ll meet on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2 MT/ 2:30 to 5 ET over Zoom throughout September except 9/23 (Rosh Hashanah).

Questions? You’ll probably find the answers in the FAQ on my website. Or feel free to reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you.
